BRETON POET-PUBLISHER EVE LERNER TO READ AT GORT

Eve Lerner, poet and translator, reads on July 24th at Gort Library (3pm). Admission Free. French-born, Eve Lerner is a former linguist, former high school and college teacher, a bilingual poet (French/English) and translator of poetry. She used to run a non-profit gallery in Lorient and started a poetry reading series (once a month) in January 2004; she now devotes her time to poetry, translating French and English speaking poets. Her published work includes ‘Journal de Bretagne/Ceci n’est pas un poème,’ 2008 AEB, ‘Singularités,’ 2009, éd L’Autre Rive, ‘Le Monde tel que je l’ai laissé,’ 2010, L’Autre Rive ed and ‘Le Chant vient de plus que l’homme,’ 2010, L’Autre Rive ed. NOEL KING READS AT GALLERY CAFÉ, GORT, CO. GALWAY

Poet and publisher NOEL KING will read from his collection, ‘Prophesying the Past,’ from Salmon Poetry, at The Café Gallery, Gort, Co. Galway, on Thursday, June 10th, starting at 8pm. Admission is free. There will be poetry and music from poet and musician Clare Sawtell and Mary O’Sullivan. The reading is organised by the Western Writers’ Centre - Ionad Scribhneoiri Chaitlín Maude - Galway.
NOEL KING was born and lives in Tralee, Ireland. His poems have been published in over thirty countries in journals such as:A Bard Hair Day, Canopy, Cork Literary Review, Cyphers, Eclipse, Fife Lines, Image Nation, Kotaz, Merseyside Arts Journal, Moonstone, New England Review, New Orphic Review, Orbis, Perimeter, Poetry Ireland Review, Poetry Salzburg Review, Pulsar, still, Studies, The Poet Tree, Ropes, THE SHOp, The Stinging Fly, Studies, The Sunday Tribune, The Word and Zygote. Prophesying the Past is his début collection. “We are delighted to be able to have Noel reading from his first collection,” says Fred Johnston, the Centre’s Director. “He has given so much to other writers through his Doghouse Press.”
